CASE OF CAPTAIN STRASBURG

Reportof Select Committee

Senator GARDINER:
NEW SOUTH WALES

– I should like, as a matter of privilege or with the consent of the Senate, to move that the trine for bringing up the report of the Select Committee inquiring into theclaims of Captain J. Strasburg for the war gratuity, which was fixed for to-day, should beextended until the 1st November.

– I suppose that the Government do not propose to answer questions to-day.

– Then the Senate can proceed to the Order of the Day for the report of the Committee to be brought up, and Senator Gardiner can then submit his motion.

On the Order of the Day being read,

Motion (by Senator Gardiner) agreed to.

That the time for bringing up the report be extended to 1st November next.
